Miss Jalisa Harrison

The gentle spirit of Jalisa LaShawn Harrison, 22, entered into a new life with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 5:12 in the evening. Jalisa was born to Rose Marie Harrison and the late Lawrence Jones Sr. on July 23, 1989 in Lafayette, LA. She was the youngest of ten children.

Those that were familiar with Jalisa, knew that she took pride in herself and her family. Her nieces and nephews bought much joy to her heart. She always showed her out pouring of love and closeness to them by spending quality time and shopping for them. Family played an important part in her life. Every holiday, birthday party or any type of gathering Jalisa was there with her signature smile and witty sense of humor.

Her “nack” for fashion was ever present in her daily life and those that had the pleasure to be in her company would always comment on her sense style. She enjoyed taking pictures and creating memories with her close friends and family. Jalisa was a continuous ray of sunlight that drew everyone to her positive, loving, and attentive attitude towards life. She loved to eat but, always preferred for her mother to show her love by cooking for her.

Jalisa leaves lasting memories with: her mother, Rose Marie Harrison; Eight sisters Tanny (Arthur) January, Celeste Harrison (Dwayne), Keisha Harrison (Leroy), Terescopia Harrison (Dylan) all of New Iberia, Litha Harrison (Dexter) of Lafayette, Martha Harrison (Walter) , Marsha Jones (Stephen), Jennifer Jones and Audrey (Derrick) Viltz all of St. Martinville. Five brothers: Rogers Harrison (Lawanda), Marvin Harrison (LeKeisha), Corderrio Harrison of New Iberia, Martin Jones (Stacey) of Breaux Bridge and Joseph Jones (Sharon) of Kilen, TX. She also leaves lasting impressions on a special friend Leon Fleming of New; Iberia Godparents Gail Eglin and Dwayne Flugence.

Jalisa is now reunited with her two children, Shaliajanae Harrison and Leon Flemming Jr. Her father Lawrence Jones Sr., and her Maternal grandmother Mary C. Harrison.

Those serving in the honor as pallbearers are: Trenston Harrison, Leon Flemming, Dwayne Flugence, James Jeanlouis, Marvin Harrison and Clifton Harrison Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Harold Harrison, Arthur January, Dylan Anthony, David Broussard Jr., James Jean Louis, Cortlan Harrison, Jabrison Harrison, Rogers Harrison and Gregory Harrison.

The family request visiting hours be observed on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Journet & Bolden Funeral Home, 711 South Corinne Street, New Iberia beginning at 7 a.m. Funeral services for Jalisa Harrison will begin at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with Rev.
